Starwberry Facts

Did you know that the strawberry that you eat is neither a fruit nor a berry? It is actually the enlarged receptacle of the flower! One serving of a strawberry is about 20% RDA of folic acid, which is more per comparable serving than any other fruit. This folic acid helps reduce birth defects involving brain and nerve disorders.

For me, I considered strawberries as one of the most delicious and nutritious fruits. Strawberries are sodium- free and fat- free food, based on a study and according to FDA regulations. Aside from the fact that they are cholesterol free, they are also low in calories.

Did you know that blueberries are an important part of a healthy diet? They maybe small but they pack a healthy punch! Blueberries are sweet, tangy and intensely blue with natural substances that can help protect against disease and promote healthy aging. They have powerful natural antioxidant qualities.

Blueberries contain naturally containing antioxidants like Vitamins C and E, which help protect the body against the damaging effects of free radicals and the chronic diseases associated with the aging process. They are among the fruits with the highest antioxidant activity than many other fresh fruits and vegetables. Blueberries contain 14 mg of Vitamin C and 0.8 mg Vitamin E per 1 cup of blueberries, anthocyanins and phenolics that can also act as antioxidants.
